Overall great sushi! They have cheaper, more basic rolls and pricier, fancier rolls. My friend and I sat outside on the patio, and we had a great time. The service did take a little longer than expected, but there were lots of carry-out orders being prepared as well.

Went here for lunch with my gfs for the first time. I got the sashimi salad (hwe dup bap) and the marjie's roll. All the special rolls are ~$9.95 for lunch and they have different options for lunch specials. The food was tasty and I really enjoyed my sashimi salad, but the portion is pretty small. All the things we ordered didn't quite fill us up. I don't think I'd pay the regular price for their special rolls. It's pretty overpriced and the portions are small, but it met our needs (taste wise). I definitely recommend the sashimi salad- it comes with both spicy sauce and salad dressing!

Been there twice. First time food was good but service was horrible. Ok maybe bad night so we tried again. Took ten mins to order and then we just left 45 mins later with no food. There is no excuse for such poor service. It was obvious that they focused all of their efforts on carry out business rather than diners. Fortunately there are plenty of other just as good places in the area

Favorite sushi in highland park and there's a lot of sushi restaurants there. The location is great as it's in the center of downtown highland park. The owners are so nice and remember us every time we come in and make us feel at home. The lunch specials are a great deal where you can order two different sushi rolls and soup or salad for under $10. The sushi is excellent and always fresh. The service is fast and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Not too noisy and the perfect energy. I always look forward to dining at Sushi Badaya. I highly recommend!

Good sushi place with a lot of different creative types of rolls, however some of the rolls were small for the price that I paid for. I got the marjie's roll, the ebiebi roll, and the turtle roll. All the rolls were a bit scant with all of them only having 7 pieces per roll. I also tried some maguro, salmon, and super white tuna sashimi and also the cucumber salad and the house salad. The marjie's roll was flavorful, plus it lacked crunch or texture and the spicy crab was not very pronounced in the roll. The turtle roll was my favorite with a good mix of flavors. The ebiebi was a bit underwhelming with the egg yolk sauce not being present in the flavor. The sashimi was the best thing, cut very well and super soft and delicious. The cucumber salad and house salad were both very good and refreshing in contrast to the rolls which were a bit more rich.
Overall, a bit pricey for sushi than other places, but good variety and flavor all around. Would try again if I ever felt like it or in the area.
